Approaches to English Studies.

We all discussed why we were English majors, why we chose our emphasis, etc.

One guy in my class is pre-med, but is majoring in English too. He says he loves it; he believes it’ll make him stand out when he applies to med school. Our prof shook his hand. I applaud him too: he’s learning about the human condition—both physical and universal.

The answers were so interesting! I was so tired yesterday, but this class.. man. So good. Praise God for a semester of useful and interesting classes with wicked sweet professors. In that class we have some passionate people, some theory-based, poets,.. it’s great. I felt so small, yet part of something big. You can laugh at my cliche now.

The Bible wouldn’t exist without the written Word. What we consider classics today were controversial and game-changers during the time the piece was written.

Our prof shared that teaching isn’t the only option with an English degree. His friend—a female, mind you—has a PhD in Victorian Literature from Pepperdine and is currently CEfreakingO of NFL.com. mind blown.

SO stoked for this semester. :)
